Follow Wellesley’s LED progress on cool interactive map

Wellesley’s Municipal Light Plant has begun retrofitting as many as 3,100 streetlights with light emitting diode (LED) fixtures, with the aim of saving hundreds of thousands of kilowatt-hours of electricity annually and saving Wellesley taxpayers money, too. You can follow the WMLP’s progress on a new interactive map (we’re showing a static version, but click on it to get to the interactive one).  The green dots show where lights have been replaced and the red ones have yet to be converted.

Read more about the LED project in our recent interview with a couple of the people involved in the project.
