Annual MLK Day breakfast
The 18th annual breakfast in honor of Martin Luther King Day sponsored by World of Wellesley and Wellesley College will take place on Monday, January 15, 2018, 8:30am – 10:30am at Alumnae Hall, Wellesley College.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Layli Maparyan, the Katherine Stone Kaufmann ’67 Executive Director of the Wellesley Centers for Women and Professor of Africana Studies at Wellesley College. An expert on the womanist worldview, Dr. Maparyan is the author of two groundbreaking texts in the field of womanist studies, The Womanist Reader (Routledge, 2006) and The Womanist Idea (Routledge, 2012).
There will also be special performances by the Kuumba Singers of Harvard and the Wellesley High School Step Team.
Please consider reserving a table, which could be used for your own group of 10 or donated for use by local students. The donation for a table is $300. The donation for an individual ticket is $30. Reservations due by January 12, 2017.
