A Swellesley reader passed along this photo of a giant coyote passing through a backyard on Sterling Road in Wellesley on Monday morning at around 9am. The English bulldog at the home laid low while this critter passed by.

This animal has been seen previously in December passing thru yards on Monadnock Road in Swellesley Hills. 3-4 nights ago some animal got “nailed” late at night (also on the N. side of Monadnock). The bushy tail on this animal is a giveaway.
Might be a “wolf-ote”, wolfote, a cross between timber wolf and coyote. They have the size, vigor and strength of wolves but have adapted to solitary hunting, rather than living in packs, like the coyote.
