Here are the homes on the Sat., May 5 Wellesley Kitchen and Home Tour

April 30, 2018 by Deborah Brown Leave a Comment

SPONSORED POST: The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club is ready to welcome you on Saturday, May 5, 11am – 3pm into six drop-dead gorgeous Wellesley homes that are as beautiful and inspiring as spring itself. The houses range from a restored 1879 Victorian to a newer Colonial transformed by colorful and modern decor. They all represent the latest trends in design and architecture.

Drumroll, please…these are the homes that will appear on the tour:
● 14 Cushing Road
● 39 Pembroke Road — also enjoy the renovated basement
● 45 Ravine Road — in addition to the kitchen, check out the custom-built pool house
● 31 Woodchester Road
● 18 Woodcliff Road
● 49 Woodlawn Avenue — The home of lifestyle/DIY blogger Jackie Hempel

Tickets, which are $45 in advance and $55 on the day of the event, can be purchased online or at Roche Bros. in Wellesley. Proceeds of the tour directly support scholarships for deserving local students and grants to organizations that provide education, enrichment and essential services to members of the surrounding community. Last year’s tour raised more than $56,000.

Each house will again feature gourmet bites from local caterers and pop-up boutiques for Mother’s Day gifts. The entire first floors will be open to tour-goers and design experts will be on hand to discuss the homes. Make sure you wear comfortable, slip-on walking shoes because  they must be removed and replaced with booties that will be provided at each home. Here are other tips for event-goers.

So get Saturday, May 5, Kitchen Tour into your calendar right now. In the meantime, you can find sneak peeks of the homes, and information as it’s updated on the WHJWC’s Instagram and Facebook.

This year’s Wellesley Kitchen and Home Tour is the culmination of a month-long celebration of the Wellesley design community, Design Wellesley. On April 27-29, Wellesley Square Merchants Association will host a Design Wellesley shopping event, featuring participating retailers Cachet Wellesley, Clever Hand Gallery, Comina, E. A. Davis, European Manor, Faber’s Rug, Florijn Home, Isabel Harvey, London Harness, Page Waterman Fine Framing, Roger Pelissier, Sprig & Vine, Wellesley Books, Wellesley Holiday Boutique and Wellesley Toys.

On April 28, Wellesley artist Carolyn Mackin will host a Curating Lifestyle event from 3-5pm at the Wellesley location of Marcus. And on May 3-4, fine art consultant Libby Silvia of ArtStyle will host an open house at her home. More information on these events can be found at www.whjwc.org.

About the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club

The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club is a group of women who work side by side to make a meaningful difference in our community. We create dynamic fundraising events that celebrate our community and tap into the generosity of those around us, including Wellesley Marketplace, Wellesley Kitchen and Home Tour, and the 5K Wonder Run and Kids Fun Run. With the money raised, we give scholarships to deserving high school students who need financial support to make college dreams possible and we fund programs that make a positive impact in the community. The work that we do helps address some of the biggest challenges facing our society: mental health, hunger, access to education, bullying, poverty and domestic violence.
