According to the Framingham Source, a bear was spotted in Framingham overnight. A Framingham resident reported this bear (pictured) in the Water Street neighborhood. The bear was seen hanging around a back yard for about 30 minutes, and it took down a bird feeder.
If he’s thinking about heading over to the new Wegman’s at the Natick Mall for better pickings, he’d better change his plan. Wegman’s closed today (May 14) at about 3pm due to a burst pipe. Reps say the store expects to reopen soon.
But getting back to Wellesley, distance from Wellesley to Framingham: under eight miles. Gulp. But the bear would likely have to cross the Mass Pike to get here, so perhaps that ribbon of high-speed roadway will insulate us and save our bird feeders.
