The Wellesley Recreation Department ran a family-friendly, learn-to-fish clinic at Morses Pond Beach. About 25 people gathered to learn the ins and outs of catch-and-release fishing at the body of water between Routes 135 and 9 in the northwest corner of Wellesley. The average depth of Morses Pond is about 8 feet, and its maximum depth is 23 feet.
On the hook yesterday were mostly sunnies, but large-mouth bass and pickerel also live in the 100-acre freshwater pond. All photo credits to Brandon Fitts, Deputy Director, Wellesley Recreation.
