This update regarding the Cliff Road project is from the Department of Public Works, Engineering Division:
To date, storm drainage improvements have been completed and sidewalk replacement work is approximately 50% complete. Over the next few weeks, sidewalk replacement work will continue and wheelchair ramp reconstruction at sidewalks and crosswalks will be accomplished.
The road surface of Cliff Road is scheduled to be milled and the top 2 inches of pavement will be removed by a pavement milling machine. The pavement milling work is scheduled to commence on or soon after July 5 and should take approximately three days to accomplish. The new pavement surface for Cliff Road will be installed approximately two weeks after the pavement milling work is completed. The paving work will take place in the later part of July, and when the actual dates of the street paving work are known additional notifications will be provided.
Currently the project is tracking ahead of schedule, which originally anticipated pavement in August and completion by October. The DPW and our contractor are working closely together and are hoping to have all work complete before the end of the summer.
Work commenced in early May 2018 and is taking place on Cliff Road between Route 9 and the town line. Work is taking place Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm. Police details are typically on site during the project construction to minimize impact to traffic, parking, and other roadway functions. A minimum of one lane of traffic in each direction is being maintained throughout the majority of the project.
It is our intent to minimize the disruption of your normal routines as best we can. If you have any questions at any time during the duration of the project feel free to call the DPW Engineering Division at 781-235-7600, extension 3315.
Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
