Wellesley teen Michael Thorbjornsen fought back from an early deficit to win the U.S. Junior Amateur title in Springfield, N.J., on Saturday.
His victory in the 36-hole golf tournament vs. the top-ranked junior in the country earns Thorbjornsen entry to the U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach next month and, pretty amazingly, the U.S. Open next year. While Thorbjornsen’s family lives in Wellesley, he currently trains for golf and goes to school in Florida.
