Wellesley Police Arrest and Incident Log 08/20/18 to 08/26/18
Arrests
On August 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Detective D’Innocenzo was on Barton Road following up on an investigation when he observed a Hyundai sedan parked in a visitor parking spot and observed a male party in the driver’s seat that was leaning into the back seat attempting to move or conceal something. He approached the vehicle and spoke with the operator, and observed two plastic containers that contained marijuana. Detective D’Innocenzo later located a digital scale with marijuana on it on the floor of the vehicle and a large amount of small plastic bags that are frequently used to package marijuana or other narcotics for sale. The operator was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on bail.
On August 20, 2018 at 10:27 p.m. Officer Dixon was on patrol and conducted a random query of a Jeep SUV’s registration. The query showed that the registered owner’s license was suspended. Officer Dixon spoke with the operator, and confirmed the status of his license with the Emergency Communications Center. The driver was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.
On August 22, 2018 at 6:04 p.m. Officer DiCenso was dispatched to Worcester Street near Kingsbury Street for a report of an erratic operator that had nearly struck the guardrail. The reporting party stated that the vehicle was swerving and that other vehicles were moving out of the way and she was concerned the operator was intoxicated. Officer DiCenso located the vehicle which initially would not stop. While speaking with the operator, Officer DiCenso detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person, his eyes were glassy and bloodshot, his movements were slow and lethargic and his speech was slurred. When asked, the operator denied consuming any alcohol. He agreed to take some reasonable tests of balance and coordination. The driver was unable to satisfactorily complete these tests which are used to determine an individual’s ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.
On August 23, 2018 at 8:54 a.m. Officer DeBernardi was on patrol on Worcester Street near Bancroft Road when he observed a white BMW and conducted a random query of the vehicle’s registration. The query showed that the registered owner’s license was suspended. Officer DeBernardi stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator. He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later transported to Dedham District Court.
On August 23, 2018 at 12:40 p.m. Officer Cunningham responded to a motor vehicle crash on Worcester Street near Francis Road. He spoke with the occupants of the vehicles and upon querying the information of one of the passengers, he was notified that there was a warrant issued by Worcester District Court for Assault and Assault and Battery. The operator was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner and transported to Dedham District Court.
On August 24, 2018 at 1:07 a.m. Officer Amalfi was dispatched to Avon Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival Officer Amalfi observed a young male sitting on the front stairs to a residence. The male party indicated he did not have a driver’s license and he had taken his mother’s vehicle without her permission and struck a parked motor vehicle while driving on Avon Road. When he stood he was unsteady on his feet and he admitted he had consumed alcohol. Officer Amalfi asked him if he was willing to take some reasonable tests of balance and coordination to determine if he was able to safely operate a motor vehicle. He agreed and was unable to successfully perform the tests. He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.
On August 26, 2018 at 1:59 a.m. Officer Rosenberg was dispatched to Worcester Street near Route 16 for a report of an erratic operator who was possibly intoxicated and was swerving all over the road and unable to maintain a lane of travel. Officer Rosenberg located the vehicle on Worcester Street and observed it veer into the breakdown lane and quickly correct. He stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator. While speaking with him he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. The operator’s eyes were bloodshot and he was lethargic. He agreed to take some reasonable tests of balance and coordination. He was unable to successfully complete these tests and was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.
Incidents
On August 23, 2018 at 1:27 p.m. Officer Hughes was dispatched to a residence on Cranmore Road for a report of a suspicious male party that was on the reporting party’s back deck. The reporting party stated when he approached the unknown male he indicated that he was delivering newspapers and left the area. The report is incomplete at this time and no further information is available.
On August 24, 2018 at 8:25 a.m. Officer Hughes was dispatched to a residence on Brook Street for a report of eggs that had been thrown at the residence. The report is incomplete at this time and no further information is available.
On August 24, 2018 at 2:41 p.m. Officer Cunningham was dispatched to the area of Paine Street and Rice Street for suspicious activity. The report is incomplete at this time and no further information is available.
