Wellesley Food Pantry needs YOU to participate in Ride for Food

Wellesley Food Pantry
Cyclists from Ride for Food fundraiser, 2017.

Once again the Wellesley Food Pantry will participate in Three Squares New England’s Ride for Food on Sunday, September 23 at Noble & Greenough School in Dedham. They need riders to sign up, to join in, and gather donations; volunteers to help staff the event on race day; and donors to support our riders.

WFP’s largest financial intake the last five years has been the Ride for Food. Each of those years we have had 6-12 riders participate to raise more than $100K for WFP. But this year we need your help.  Several of our best fundraising riders are unable to participate this year, so we may not be able to achieve our goal of $19K. We need both riders and donors’ support to help WFP collect the funds that go to purchasing healthy food items – fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and fish, eggs, cheese, etc. – that are critical to our mission.

Riders can choose from routes of 12, 25, and 50 miles, or the opportunity to do a spinning class on-site instead. The ride is for all levels and abilities. Each rider has a goal of raising $1,000. Ride includes light breakfast, water stops, music, t-shirts, and lunch are provided to all participants.

Please visit our team’s webpage to ride, donate, or volunteer. Thank you for your support.
