The former Page Waterman Gallery space at 26 Church St. on October 26 will become the new home of Fat Face clothing store. According (loosely) to their marketing materials, back in the 1980s, two British ski bums with a particular fondness for the French Alps ski run “La Face” decided over après ski hot toddies to start a clothing brand. It beat going to grad school.
A quick look at their website revealed attractively priced preppy/outdoorsy clothing for men, women, and kids. They’ve got women’s sweatshirts and hoodies for $60 – $80; men’s footwear priced at $60 – $140; and kids’ down jackets in the $50 – $70 range. Did I forget to mention athleisure wear? How could I? They’ve got that, too.
