About 175 kids and adults headed for the trails around Morses Pond on Sunday to take part in the Wellesley Trails Committee‘s Kids’ Trails Day, a combination hike and science fair.
The trailblazers stopped along the way to learn about birds, insects (including some very friendly woollybear caterpillars) and biodegradability, as well as to learn how to build a woodland shelter and paint some rocks. Members of the Wellesley High School Key Club were a big help throughout the afternoon.
Those who made it through the nearly 1-mile loop of educational and fun activities were rewarded at the end with donuts and cider.
