SPONSORED POST: The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club will host the 42nd Annual Wellesley Marketplace on Saturday, November 17, once more at Wellesley High School location at 50 Rice St. Buy tickets online here. Organized by The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club, proceeds from the show are given back to the community in the form of need-based scholarships and grants.

Wellesley Marketplace
The Salty Cottage of Beverly, Mass., will bring their pillows back to Wellesley Marketplace in 2018

Marketplace is the unofficial start of the holiday season for those seeking unique locally made gifts. The event typically draws a crowd of over 1,700 shoppers eager to see goodies made by the 200 artists and crafts people from New England and afar. Wellesley Marketplace is the place to find unique hostess and teacher gifts, hand-made note cards, one-of-a-kind jewelry, home accessories, dog toys, ornaments, delicious food treats, or that special, one-of-a-kind piece of artwork for the person who has everything.

New this year: Complimentary gift wrapping will be available to all shoppers courtesy of Sustainable Wellesley, so be sure to swing by their table on the first floor to have your gifts wrapped in beautiful Japanese Furoshiki wraps.

The Gingerbread Construction Co. of Wakefield and Winchester, Mass., is another popular food vendor returning to Wellesley Marketplace in 2018

Premium Admission

Get first crack at Wellesley Marketplace for an exclusive shopping hour from 9am – 10 am before the doors open to General Admission.  Of course, your Premium Admission ticket is good for entry at any time during the day from 9am – 4pm. This year, Premium Shoppers will also get a free tote bag. Advance Premium tickets will be on sale for $20 at Roche Bros. in Wellesley and online.

General Admission

Starting at 10am, General Admission tickets are $15 for Adults, and $5 for Students and Seniors.

Last year, the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club (WHJWC) awarded $72,000 in college scholarships to 28 Wellesley High School students. WHJWC also gave $70,500 in grants to Wellesley-area community groups.

“I love that we can raise money for kids to go to college and to help fund community groups like the PTO, after-school sports and the food pantry by creating an arts marketplace of cool, interesting local artists,” said Marketplace co-chairwoman Jennifer Bonniwell. “This is my favorite shopping event of the year.”

ABOUT THE WELLESLEY HILLS JUNIOR WOMEN’S CLUB (WHJWC)

The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club is a group of women who work side by side to make a meaningful difference in our community by raising money and giving time to help those in need.

We create dynamic fundraising events that celebrate our community and tap into the generosity of those around us. With the money raised, we give scholarships to deserving high school students and we fund programs that make a positive impact in the community, such as an anti-bullying campaign for middle school students. We also volunteer with organizations that are making a real difference, giving our time to help children with special needs, the elderly and families in crisis.

The work that we do helps address some of the biggest challenges facing our society: mental health, hunger, access to education, poverty and domestic violence. And along the way, lasting friendships are created while we work side-by-side. In a world where problems are complex and the news is often bad, we’re making a measurable difference where we can — right here at home. For more information about our annual fundraisers and charitable giving, please go to www.whjwc.com.
