Here’s a round-up of the latest Wellesley, Mass., business news:
Dogs no longer have to be jealous of all those Wellesley spas for humans
Michael and Kim LaRoche are expanding their Pampered Puppies dog grooming business into the space at 159 Linden St., formerly occupied by Miss Michelle’s Center for the Performing Arts, which closed abruptly at the end of August.
It doesn’t sound like doggie clients will be forced to watch that famous Wellesley High School commencement speech dubbed “You’re Not Special.”
“We believe all puppies deserve to be pampered, and built the business with this in mind,” the LaRoches state on their Facebook page.
A Pampered Puppies, pooches will get the royal treatment from the LaRoches, who show their own Portuguese Water Dogs, and have been showing dogs on and off for more than 25 years,. The business already offers grooming and bathing, and plans to add training and daycare to its services.
Cleaning and grooming services run from $45 to $90, depending on the size of the dog, and less glamorous services, such as de-matting an de-skunking, are also offered for dogs who find themselves in a fix.
Meanwhile, that area of Linden Square might be earning the nickname of the Dog Pound. Right next door is Laughing Dog Yoga, and across the parking lot, Unleashed by Petco…
Code Ninjas getting closer
Just across the parking lot from where Pampered Puppies will reside, Code Ninjas is nearing its fall opening of a Wellesley location. It just put up a sign.
The business teaches kids how to code in a fun way.
Wellesley dental office moving to space featuring the easiest quiz ever
Wellesley Family Dental is moving east on Washington Street from 308 to 298, where it will be located in between the Maugus restaurant and the shoe repair shop. Definitely an upgrade over the business that used to be there…
On the window of the future dental office is one sign that reads “Guess who is coming here?”…next to a sign for the dental business.
Train Boston gets a facelift
Physical therapy and training center Train Boston at 34 Washington St., in Wellesley, recently celebrated its grand re-opening (not that it ever closed) following a major renovation. Business manager Terry Sherman says the renovation includes new locker rooms, moving the physical therapy department into one area with 7 private treatment rooms, a brand new front desk area, new flooring and new turf in the back rooms. The pilates studio has been moved upstairs to its own area, plus there’s a new team lounge.

Until Pampered Puppies opens its doors on Linden Street, you can still get your dog beautifully groomed by the LaRoches locally, and they do a FANTASTIC job! Their work is outstanding, I didn’t have to drive to another town, and leave my dog there all day. Wellesley will truly benefit from this full-service option as we currently don’t have anything like it! And…our favorite trainer will be working there. Having an indoor “dog park” will be great for bitter cold winter days. Really looking forward to this new business in Swellesley.
