Cub Scouts from Wellesley Pack 185 will have a hard time topping last weekend, when the kids took part at the annual Fall Campout at Nobscot Boy Scout Reservation in Sudbury.
Here are the scouts in front of a cabin near their campsite. Once the sun went down, scouts performed skits on this porch and entertained parents and other scouts. After the skits, they celebrated with S’Mores.
Here, Pack leaders demonstrated to scouts how to light a fire without matches. The scouts didn’t waste the fire once it started, as they cooked hot dogs, hamburgers, and sausages. Some resourceful ones even whittled sticks to use as skewers.
The Pack enjoyed a beautiful moonrise, sunrise, and even a very noisy owl in the middle of the night. The weather was perfect for camping and it was another great opportunity for the kids to enjoy exploring the outdoors, according to Mark Lorion, who provided us with the commentary and photos here…
