The Wellesley Unified Plan hasn’t gone precisely according to plan — town officials had hoped to wrap things up earlier this year, but all those pesky school building meetings, 40B and housing production plan sessions, and other assorted things have slowed the process a bit. But the comprehensive and strategic plan, which covers the town’s vision for everything from land use to transportation to education, is getting very close to being formally adopted.
The Planning Department is incorporating the last comments into the final document, which will be adopted by the Board of Selectmen at an upcoming meeting. That could happen as soon as Dec. 17, but with the year-end holiday crush upon us, there’s also a decent chance it could get pushed into early 2019. We first started hearing about the plan back in late 2016.
