The Wellesley High School boys’ soccer team is riding a 13-game winning streak into the state final vs Ludlow at The Manning Bowl in Lynn on Saturday at 4pm (moved from Worcester due to bad field conditions following the storm). The team will look to win its first state title since 1980 vs. a school that has more state championships than any in Massachusetts soccer history. Oskar Haeberlein’s hat trick vs. Lincoln-Sudbury proved to be more than enough in a 3-0 victory earlier this week in the Division 1 south sectional title game.
The girls’ swim and dive team has exceeded expectations with an 11-0 regular season, their Bay State Conference title in years, and the South Sectional Title. The Division 2 state finals are Sunday at 2pm at Harvard University.
Also on Sunday, the boys’ and girls’ cross country teams will run at the MIAA All-State meet at chilly Westfield State. Both teams put up strong performances last weekend in Wrentham at the divisional championships.
