Wellesley Girl Scout Troop 73505 is celebrating four Cadettes who have received their Silver Award, an action-oriented community service award that is the highest recognition a Cadette can earn.
Rachel White earned her Silver Award for spearheading the creation of a student council at Wellesley Middle School. Mary Markis, Ashley Franklin, and Madeline Ward earned theirs by working with the activities director at Elizabeth Seton Residence to improve daily routines for seniors.
Separately, Wellesley Cub Scouts from Pack 185 spent this past weekend camped out on the USS Massachusetts in Fall River. The boys and their parents slept in crew quarters on canvas bunks, explored the ship’s nooks and crannies, and learned a thing or two about history.
