The Wellesley Scholarship Foundation (WSF) is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year.
WSF provides college scholarships to Wellesley residents attending undergraduate programs. In 2018, WSF doled out $330,000 in need-based awards to 81 students.
In addition to need-based awards, each year two privately endowed merit scholarships are given to graduating high school seniors in
recognition of outstanding achievement and citizenship.
Need-based awards: Need is determined using the CSS/Financial Aid Profile. All financial information is kept strictly confidential. Scholarship amounts have ranged in size from $500 to $10,000 annually and are awarded in June. It is necessary to re-apply annually for all need-based awards.
In addition, WSF administers applications for the Friends of Wellesley METCO, Kiwanis Club, Wellesley Hills Historical Society, Wellesley Merchants Association, Wellesley Cancer Prevention Project, Wellesley Patrolmen’s Association, and Wellesley War Memorial scholarship.
Merit based awards: The Margaret Daniels Scholarship for women and the Donald P. Babson Scholarship for men are privately endowed merit-based awards also administered by WSF. Each year a $3,000 scholarship is awarded to one graduating male and one graduating female high school student and is renewable for each of the recipient’s four years of college.
Applications are available on the Wellesley Scholarship Foundation website. Please note that application materials must be received by
February 1, 2019. For additional information please visit WSF’s website or contact Mariann Youniss by email at wsf1951.scholarship@gmail.com
