Clean sweep for Wellesley track & field

The Wellesley High boys and girls track & field teams swept the Division 2 championships in Boston at Reggie Lewis Center on Friday night.

Both teams had strong individual and relay team performances (full results), with athletes such as Derek Chalmers (long jump, 55M dash, 4×200 relay), Colby Zarle (2-mile, 4×800 relay), Anna Jordahl-Henry (high jump, 300M, 4×200 relay) and Abby Comella (600M, 4×200 relay) among those leading the way. The girls’ title was their third straight, and they finished the night in stellar fashion with a meet record in the 4×400 relay (4:00.16).

More details in this Boston Herald account. The season continues with the all-states event for some track & field participants, then the nationals in New York.
