A reminder from the Department of Public Works: The Water & Sewer Division will be flushing water mains during the week of April 22 through April 26 between 8am and 5pm.
Flushing improves Wellesley water quality by removing sediment buildup in the mains and tests the safe operation of hydrants and water valves.
Small particles dislodged during the flushing process and possible reduced water pressure may cause water to become temporarily discolored. While this is not harmful, discolored water may stain laundry and plumbing fixtures.
Please check your water for discoloration by letting the cold water run for a minute or two until clear.
The Town cannot guarantee the safety of doing laundry or the possibility of discoloration at other times in the day due to the disturbance of the water system.
For more information, email the Water & Sewer Division or call 781-235-7600 ext. 3355.
