Following the race, we host a large cookout with hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks in the Babson Athletic Fields. There will be fun for the kids as well, including at least two bounce houses. The event is named in honor of Officer Stewart Savage who died on March 18, 1995 from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident in the line of duty on March 12, 1995. Officer Savage took great pride in staying fit. The Officer Savage Fitness facility at the police station was made possible by donations from the Savage Family and citizens of Wellesley.
Proceeds from this race will be used to financially assist worthy youth organizations and to purchase and maintain exercise equipment for the Savage Fitness facility.
