Everyone is welcome to the inaugural Wellesley Eid Festival, June 8, 2pm – 4pm, at the Wellesley Town Hall Green for some free family fun including arts & crafts, face painting, nails, henna tattoos, lawn games, popcorn, cotton candy and much more.
Eid al-Fitr, also called the “Festival of Breaking the Fast”, is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Ramadan was observed May 5 – June 3, 2019.
Wellesley Eid Fest is coordinated by Wellesley resident Nadeem Sarwar, in partnership with World of Wellesley and a team of Wellesley youth spanning elementary, middle, high school and college freshmen.
