Way to grow in Wellesley’s Linden Square

Charles River Center gardeners tend a bumper crop

The gardening crew from the Charles River Center (CRC) was hard at work Wednesday in the Linden Square Courtyard, tending the raised beds full of greens, tomatoes, and other veggies. Property manager Federal Realty and CRC began the healthy partnership in 2017. Local Boy Scouts built the raised beds, and CRC plants seeds and starter plants, then delivers the resulting produce to the Wellesley Food Pantry.

Helping others is how the horticulture crew of the Charles River Center rolls. CRC, I love this pic of you all. Thanks for all your hard work growing and donating food to families need. Great, great job.

The CRC crew brought stakes and twine to keep the tomato plants upright as they grow taller.

The tomatoes have been thriving in this summer’s heat broken up by the occasional rainstorm. By next month, the crew will be picking ripe, red tomatoes.

You can count of the CRC crew to plant things in neat, even rows and to always keep the beds weed-free.
