Wellesley Business Buzz: Sew Easy stitches Wellesley & Needham spots; Wellesley Nails swaps squares; Hoffman moves again

Here’s our round-up of the latest Wellesley, Mass. business news:

Sew Easy stitches Wellesley & Needham spots

Sew Easy, which has been teaching kids, teens and adults how to sew for more than 20 years, is merging the Wellesley shop it opened on Linden Street in 2011 with the Needham shop it started with.

“There is a big opportunity for us to expand our physical storefront space in Needham to create a state-of-the-art facility offering many more programs,” says owner Lauren Johnston. “Adult Sip n’ Sew Nights, Teen Evening programs, Father-Daughter Sew, and much more! Decisions are not always easy to make, but we are certain that this may be an exciting new path for our business.”

Johnston says Wellesley families have followed Sew Easy the few miles away to Needham. The business also offers classes in Naples, Fla., which of course is Wellesley south.

As Sew Easy departs Wellesley, Johnston credits landlord Bill Cullen for his longtime support during Sew Easy’s tenure here.

Wellesley Nails & Spa swaps squares

Wellesley Nails & Spa is moving from 316 Washington St. to 139 Linden Street in Wellesley, inside of Eugenio’s Salon, starting Oct.2.

Hoffman Insurance moves again

Hoffman Insurance, which in 2016 relocated from Linden Street to a spot at 368 Washington Street currently sandwiched between a tech company and a financial consulting firm, has picked up and moved again.

The firm is now in a less prominent, but perhaps less pricey space at 16 Laurel Ave., just around the corner.
