Update (9/17/19):
Here’s the info on the locations for the revised Town-Wide Yard Sale, according to Wellesley Recreation.
The 2019 Town-Wide Yard Sale that was to be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, 10am-1pm, at Morses Pond, is being recast as a town-wide yard sale at individuals’ homes as a result of decreased seller participation.

The Rec Department reached out to those who had registered as sellers to say that:
“Due to a decreased number of registered sellers, we are going to change the format of the event.
This year we WILL NOT HOLD THE EVENT AT MORSES POND.
Instead, we will pull a permit for you to hold the yard sale at your home and we will list your address in our promotional literature (including a map), and emails.
If you would like to be included in this ‘Town Wide yard sale,’ please let us know by Thursday, 9/12 and provide the start/end times you would like your yard sale to be listed on September 21.
If you would not like to participate in this event, please let us know by Thursday, 9/12 and we will provide you with a full refund.”
What’s the reasoning behind the last rule? Pretty odd, don’t you think? It seems like it would be a great conversation starter for a buyer to comment on it.
Only in Wellesley.
I guess we needed to write “wink, wink” after that one.
