Panel to tackle Wellesley-Needham Thanksgiving football rivalry

October 17, 2019 by Bob Brown

The Wellesley Historical Society, Wellesley Free Library and Gridiron Club will team up on Monday, Nov. 18, to get you primed for this year’s Thanksgiving morning football game between Wellesley and Needham High Schools. The event will take place from 6:30-8pm, and light refreshments will be served.

As the oldest one among public schools, the Wellesley and Needham football rivalry that began in 1882 is historic. The Raiders got stuffed at the end of last year’s 14-13 loss, but this year will look for home cooking in Wellesley to help get revenge.

Rooting for your high school? That’s legit. Just didnt want to hear that you went to Natick High and were rooting for Needham…
