Wellesley Business Buzz: StretchMed extends into Wellesley Square; Wellesley Bank celebrates re-opening

Our round-up of the latest Wellesley, Mass., business news:

StretchMed extends into Wellesley Square

Wellesley Square will soon welcome StretchMed Studios to its sweat strip, which already includes Orangetheory, Btone, B/Spoke, The Bar Method, H.Y.P. Studio).

StretchMed will open at 85 Central St., formerly the location of various fashion stores and a salon.

StretchMed specializes in partner-assisted stretching to help keep you limber and fit.  StretchMed was founded by Brian Cook, who also started up Get in Shape for Women, which used to have a Wellesley location.

We don’t think it’s a stretch to suggest that dedicated stretching studios, like juice bars a few years ago, could become the next business trend in Wellesley. We need just 1 more in town to make it officially a trend. StretchLab, a husband-and-wife operation, has already announced plans to open in Linden Square this winter to offer one-on-one and small group stretching (and StretchMed promotional cards have been seen on car windshields in Linden Square…). In Newton, Lymbr offers personalized stretching as well. No doubt some of Wellesley’s dozens of other fitness spots offer stretching, too.

StretchMed coming soon
