16 Bars & Wellesley: 2 things you thought you’d never see in the same sentence.
Babson College will host a screening of a new documentary titled 16 Bars, followed by a talk with two of the film’s editors on Monday, Nov. 4, 6 pm, Winn Auditorium, Olin Hall.
16 Bars is a feature-length music documentary that offers a glimpse at the human stories and songs locked away in the country’s jails and prisons. The film follows a rehabilitation effort in a Virginia jail that invites inmates to write and record original music. In the jail’s makeshift recording studio, four men collaborate on an album with Grammy-winning recording artist, Todd “Speech” Thomas, from the hip-hop group Arrested Development.
