The Wellesley Board of Assessors has released Fiscal Year 2020 proposed property values for Wellesley, so it’s time to see how much your neighbor’s house and land are worth. The story these days always seems to be that it’s the land that’s hiking up the assessed value (and property taxes).
This is actually only the second scariest thing I’ve come across today, the first being a spreadsheet of what journalists say they earn.
According to the town, these preliminary property value assessments are made available through a public disclosure program conducted by the assessors as part of a Department of Revenue (DOR) comprehensive audit that takes place every five years. Information on DOR guidelines is available on the FY 2020 Preliminary Assessments public disclosure announcement.
The proposed values are published pending preliminary DOR certification and are available for review on the FY 2020 List of Preliminary Assessments by property.
For additional information or specific questions, contact the Assessors Office by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov 21.
