Wellesley Business Buzz: Campbell Supply closes after long run; Pop91 is back in Wellesley Square

November 4, 2019 by Bob Brown Leave a Comment

Wellesley TransportationThis week’s Wellesley Business Buzz is sponsored by Wellesley Transportation. Owned and operated by Thomas Shinnick since 1995, Wellesley Transportation, formerly known as College Taxi, has been proudly serving Wellesley and the surrounding communities for over 100 years.  Originally established in 1912, Wellesley Transportation provides on-time airport, local and long-distance transportation in luxury vehicles.  For reservations, call or text 781-235-2200.

Here’s our round-up of the latest Wellesley, Mass., business news:

Campbell Supply closes after long run

Campbell Supply Co. is one of those relatively rare Wellesley businesses that’s been around for decades but that few people in town probably knew. The business is at 26 Washington St. in lower falls behind Taylor Rental.

Molly Campbell Palmer posted on Instagram about the shutdown of the business, started by her Italian immigrant grandfather and run later by her dad and his brothers. She and her brother worked there, too, at one time. Campbell Supplies might not have been “glamorous,” but it has helped many people keep their private and commercial vehicles running over the years.
