The Wellesley Police Department and Health Department are taking part in the federal Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this April 24th from 10am-2pm at the police station at 485 Washington St.
All unused medications as well as sharps in appropriate containers (hard containers, not bags) are accepted.
The police station no longer has a kiosk there for drug disposal at all times.
The Fire Station on Rte. 9 West has a kiosk for sharps, available any day.
Old drugs can also be disposed of at certain CVS and other pharmacies. More than two dozen such locations are within 10 miles of Wellesley.
Throwing old pills in the trash can be unsafe and spilling them down the drain or toilet can harm the water supply.
