Wellesley business buzz: btone changes hands; Wellesley Home Hero rolls out chatbot ; Pho Station aims for August

August 5, 2024 by Bob Brown

The latest Wellesley, Mass., business news:

btone changes hands

Jody Merrill & Alissa Pool, who opened the btone Fitness location in Wellesley just over 10 years ago at the former Odd Fellows Building (89 Central St.), have informed customers that the business has a new owner named Lauren Lacava Bibbo.

They wrote in part:

We opened Wellesley a little over 10 years ago together. Upon meeting this milestone in business we took a look at where we were. Time and covid brought us both farther away from the Wellesley studio. We started to think about what was best for the studio, its staff, and clients.

We have cherished not only our time working together, but our time with you as well. You have all been a part of our story. After a lot of introspection and many conversations, we have decided it is time for us to pass this amazing place on to a new owner.

Lacava Bibbo already owns a btone franchise in Waltham and has been part of btone from the start.

The former owners say the transition “should feel pretty seamless,” with familiar instructors staying on.

Pho Station now opening in August

Pho Stationpho station, the Vietnamese restaurant coming to Wellesley at 352 Washington St., is now planning to open later in August. It had originally planned to open in mid-July, and has held a couple of pop-up events to give some a taste of its menu.

It has posted online: “Dear Wellesley Community, Thank you for your incredible support and patience! Our two pop-up events in July were a great success, and we are so grateful to everyone who visited us. We have learned so much about this unique community and are working hard to tailor our services to meet your needs. We are excited to announce that our official grand opening will be in August. Stay tuned—it’s finally happening! Thank you again for your continued support! Pho Station”
