The Wellesley Trails Committee invites you to come alorail ng to enjoy some of Wellesley’s beautiful open spaces and discover trails that will expand your recreational options! The walks are free, and no registration is required. Most walks cover 1.5 to 2 miles and last about one hour. Participants are encouraged to wear sturdy footwear.
Morses Pond Kids Trails Day
Saturday, Sept. 21 (10-11:30 a.m.)
Join us in celebrating fall and get your kids out into the woods to have fun and explore nature. Children will look for treasure boxes using letterboxing (written clues). Refreshments served at the end of the activities. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Morses Pond beach parking lot. Sudbury Path & Needham Aqueduct Trail
Saturday, Sept. 28 (10-11:15 a.m.) – 2.4 miles
Explore the trails that loop around Babson and Olin Colleges along the Sudbury Path and the town border between Wellesley and Needham. A highlight is a visit to the restored Babson World Globe, constructed in 1955 and still the world’s second largest revolving globe. Meet at Babson Skating Rink parking lot (southwest corner), 150 Great Plain Ave., Wellesley.
Carisbrooke
Sunday, Oct. 20 (1-2 p.m.) – 1.8 miles
Explore the rocky outcrops near the source of Cold Stream Brook. This loop trail starts near the Weston town line, crosses a footbridge over the Wellesley branch of the brook, loops around to the most western part of the reservation, and crosses over the Weston branch of the brook. This trail has some stony and muddy sections and walkers should wear sturdy shoes. Meet at White Oak Road Trailhead. Use this address for GPS: 50 White Oak Road, Wellesley.
Town Forest
Saturday, October 25 – (10-11 a.m.) – 1.6 miles
The Town Forest is the largest reservation in Wellesley and supports a wide variety of wildlife and birds in a natural environment. Walk along the Longfellow Pond shoreline and climb to the top of a spectacular high esker deposited by glaciers. Meet at Longfellow Pond parking lot (right side).
