State Primary unofficial results are in for Wellesley

The town of Wellesley has released unofficial results for the Sept. 3 state primary election, which drew just a 20% voter turnout locally.

In contested races on the Democratic ticket, based on Wellesley votes, Mara Dolan topped Marilyn Petitto in the tight Governor’s Council race, Robert Jubinville beat Walter Timilty in the Norfolk County Clerk of Courts contest, and William O’Donnell topped Noel DiBona in the Register of Deeds race. On the Republican ticket, military veteran and attorney John Deaton earned more votes in Wellesley than did his two opponents, and he did the same across the state.  Deaton will face incumbent Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren in the November election.

The Secretary of the Commonwealth will publish official results when all ballots are counted. Unofficial results typically don’t include write-in, provisional, military, or overseas ballots.
