Parents Day Out

The Wellesley Square Merchants’ Association’sWellesley Square Merchants Parents Day Out is a time when everyone can enjoy specials offered by participating merchants in the Square. On Friday, Sept. 20 & Saturday, Sept. 21, many of the area’s stores will offer discounts and deals, so make sure you stop by and shop, dine, and enjoy Wellesley Square.

All this and free 2-hour parking at bagged street meters on both days in and around the Square, thanks to the Town of Wellesley. (Parking fees still apply at all non-bagged meters and in municipal lots.)

Wellesley Theatre ProjectWellesley Theatre Project presents How to Train Your Dragon, The Musical, Jr. Shows take place on Sept. 20-22, at the WTP Studio Theater, 219 Washington St. Tickets here.

Based on the DreamWorks Animation film, How To Train Your Dragon brings the adventures of Hiccup and Toothless to life on stage. This heartwarming coming-of-age story follows Hiccup, a misfit teen from the village of Berk, who can’t kill a dragon. Tossed into dragon-fighting school, he tries to prove himself, but instead develops an unlikely friendship with Toothless, an injured dragon. Together, the dynamic duo strives to end the war between dragons and vikings, all while showing us that being a true hero means being true to yourself.


Kids Trails Day at Morses Pond

Join the Wellesley Trails Committee on Sept. 21 from 10-11:30am in celebrating fall and get your kids out into the woods to have fun and explore nature. Children will look for treasure boxes using letterboxing (written clues).

Refreshments served at the end of the activities. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Meet at the Morses Pond beach parking lot. From Weston Road, follow Turner Road to the entrance to Morses Pond.

● Participants are encouraged to wear sturdy footwear.
● Walks take place unless it pours rain or there are high winds.


MassHort Flower Show

Massachusetts Horticultural Society (MHS) will hold the 138th New England Fall Flower Show on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, 2024 at the Garden at Elm Bank in Wellesley, MA. Tickets here.

The theme is “Heritage and Hope”, which signifies how the show draws inspiration simultaneously from the nearly 200-year-old history of MHS and the legacy of the Flower Show as well as the limitless possibilities of the future.

The judged competition classes include Amateur Horticulture, Junior Horticulture, Floral Design, Botanical Arts, Photography, and Miniature Gardens. All are invited to submit their exhibits for the judged Amateur and Junior Horticulture competitions.
