Wellesley’s many Halloween-time traditions are gearing up, so be sure not to miss a single opportunity to dress up in costume for visits to pumpkin patches, a fun fair, library activities, and more.
In Wellesley, kids go treat or treating on… Halloween, which is on Thursday, Oct. 31. This year, the public schools have the next day off to recognize Diwali.

- Wellesley Recreation Department’s Howlin’ Halloween Contest. Take a picture of the nominated house along with the address and email it to recreation@wellesleyma.gov • Nominations must be received by 10am on Friday, October 25 • Categories: Scariest & Judges Choice • Awards delivered by the Boo Crew.
- Bates Pumpkin Fair, Saturday, Oct. 5, 12-4pm at Bates Elementary School. This year’s fair promises exciting games, thrilling rides, balloon artists, tasty treats, a magician, dancing, and more!

- Watch the movie “Beetlejuice” at Wellesley Free Library, Oct. 17, 7pm. Snacks provided. Ages 8+ suggested.
- Halloween story time & craft at Wellesley Free Library, Oct. 31, 10:30-11:15pm. Come dressed in costume to listen to Halloween stories, sing songs, do a Halloween craft, and participate in a costume parade and trick-or-treat around the library.
