Yes, Wellesley is quieter in the summer, with far less traffic, easier to access parking, and fewer kids scrambling around. But that’s not to say nothing was happening.
Here’s a recap:
- The 100-year-old Hardy Elementary School was torn down on Weston Road (so definitely not.a quiet summer for neighbors), and the new Hardy school adjacent to it has opened.
- Several restaurants opened—Dryft in Linden Square, Popovers at Church Square, and Pho Station in Wellesley Hills. Karma in Linden Square? Still working on it. Soon opening: black & blue in Wellesley Square.
Pho Station
- $500K in fresh federal funding will make the Wellesley Square train station accessible.
- On the housing front, proposed projects at Walnut Street and Washington Court made headway, while a new plan emerged for property at 489 Worcester St., after a condo plan was called off. Residents also began moving in to the Bristol on Weston Road and Terrazza on Linden Street.
