Wellesley’s Sustainability Director, Marybeth Martello, Ph.D.,  will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club’s meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 6:30pm, at the MassBay Alumni Boardroom, 50 Oakland St., Wellesley Hills.

Her talk, “Wellesley Climate Action—Be Part of It,” will focus on how you can help make the Wellesley community more sustainable. Dr. Martello will share the Town’s ambitious goals and exciting achievements, as guided by its Climate Action Plan.

Discover how Wellesley is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, enhance climate resilience, and engage
community members in building an eco-friendly future through its Climate Action Be Part of It! campaign. In this presentation, you’ll learn about:

  • Financial, health, and environmental benefits of climate action
  • Town projects that lead by example
  • Climate action opportunities in your household
  • Personalized, no-cost technical advice for Wellesley residents
  • Energy-related incentives and resources
  • Opportunities for participating in Town climate action programs

Successful climate initiatives in Wellesley depend on community participation. Dr. Martello will highlight ways residents, businesses, and organizations can partner with the Climate Action Committee to help drive progress toward net zero emissions.

The public is always invited to any Rotary program.
