About that Wellesley teardown on Rte. 9 west

Readers have asked about the status of 489 Worcester St., where the large home on the property has been torn down.

As we reported over the summer, the property owners disclosed plans to tear down the house and make way for two single-family homes. Earlier plans to make that property part of a condo development in the Cliff Estates area were scrapped after meeting neighborhood and town resistance.

There is an active building permit for the teardown at 489 Worcester St. A home at adjacent 14 Cliff Rd., is expected to remain.
