Entertainer Janelle Monáe paid Wellesley a visit last month

Multi-talented Janelle Monáe (singer, actor, author, social activist) paid a visit to Wellesley College on Nov. 22 as part of the school’s Newhouse Center for the Humanities speaker series.

The event at Alumnae Hall was a discussion between Janelle Monáe and Associate Professor of Art Nikki Greene.

During the talk, Monáe said: ““We need writers. We need visionaries. We need people writing, being unafraid to tell the truth, and being unafraid to remember.”

Attendance was restricted to the college community.

Monáe posted about the visit on social media.
