Here’s the updated daily weather forecast for Wellesley, MA, from Thursday, December 26, 2024 to Thursday, Jan. 3, 2025 by Meteorologist Matthew Moll of  New England Weather Consulting:

Wellesley residents can expect a mix of sunny days, rain, and cooler air heading into the New Year. This forecast highlights periods suitable for outdoor activities, though rain and potential icy conditions later in the week may create minor travel challenges.

Thursday, December 26: Mostly sunny with a high near 37°F. Light winds will keep conditions comfortable for any post-holiday errands or outdoor fun. Clouds will gradually increase in the evening, with overnight lows around 21°F. A quiet and crisp night awaits—ideal for cozy indoor relaxation.

Friday, December 27: Sunny and seasonably cool, with a high near 38°F. Calm winds make for pleasant conditions, whether running errands or enjoying a walk outdoors. Skies will turn mostly cloudy by evening, with lows around 23°F. The night will remain quiet with minimal wind.

Saturday, December 28: Partly sunny during the day, with a high near 39°F. Light winds and dry conditions provide a good window for outdoor plans. Clouds will increase in the evening, and there’s a 30% chance of rain developing after 2 a.m. Overnight lows will drop to around 30°F.

Sunday, December 29: Mostly cloudy, with increasing chances of rain in the afternoon. The high will reach near 42°F, with light east winds at 3 to 6 mph adding to the damp feel. Rain becomes more likely by evening, with a 50% chance continuing overnight. Mild overnight lows will hover around 36°F, with slightly breezier conditions.

Monday, December 30: Rain is likely, making this the wettest day of the week. Expect cloudy skies with a high near 47°F. East winds will blow at 7 to 9 mph, occasionally gusting up to 20 mph. Evening temperatures will dip to around 37°F, with rain tapering off overnight. Winds will shift from southeast to southwest after midnight.

Tuesday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve): Morning rain chances decrease, with skies becoming partly sunny by afternoon. The high will reach near 47°F, creating mild conditions for the year’s close. West winds around 7 mph will shift to the north later, bringing cooler air. Evening lows will fall to around 39°F under partly cloudy skies—dress warmly if heading out for celebrations.

Wednesday, January 1 (New Year’s Day): Cloudy and mild, with a high near 46°F. A 30% chance of light rain showers is expected, mainly in the morning and early afternoon. Calm winds and damp conditions may cause slick spots, especially in shaded areas. Evening temperatures will drop to around 28°F, with potential for icy patches on roads and sidewalks.

Thursday, January 2: Partly sunny and chilly, with a high near 44°F. Northwest winds at 5 to 8 mph will make it feel brisk. Evening lows will dip to around 22°F under clearing skies, leading to frosty overnight conditions.

Friday, January 3: Mostly sunny, with a high near 35°F. Light winds and ample sunshine make for a pleasant winter day despite the cooler temperatures. Evening lows will settle around 24°F under partly cloudy skies, rounding out a calm and serene start to the weekend.
