Goodbye, Year of the Dragon, hello, Year of the Snake. Wednesday, Jan. 29, is Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year. The celebratory holiday welcomes the arrival of spring, and is considered to be the most important holiday in China. The day is celebrated by millions of Asians worldwide with decorations, shopping, good food, family time, and more.

DESCRIPTION: The Lunar New Year event will feature a series of art-making and performance activities centered on the celebrations associated with the Lunar New Year. Lunar New Year is an important time for celebration in the majority of East and Southeast Asian cultures. We welcome the New Year by spending time with family making food, playing games, telling stories, and cleaning our homes! This is a family-friendly event, free and open to the public.
