Clever Hand Gallery hosting annual Wellesley High student art exhibit

The Clever Hand Gallery in Wellesley Square for the 15th year is hosting an art exhibit featuring the work of advanced clay, metal, and jewelry students at Wellesley High School.

The gallery has coordinated with teachers Amie Larson (ceramics) and Shayla Vines (jewelry and metals) on the display.

Twenty three students are exhibiting their work, and nine of them were earlier recognized for pieces submitted to the annual Scholastic Arts Award Show. These students include Zere Asfaw, Elise Dupont, Jenna Kelly, Emily Rich, Lucy Rodriguez, Brooke Simko, Sofia Dobado Quilis, Ellery Franceschini, and Lucy Stathis. (One other student, Vale Sanchez, had a piece selected for the K-12 clay show sponsored by the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts.)

Most of the students are seniors, and many of them will continue their art studies in college.

The Wellesley High School students’ work will be on exhibit in the window of the Clever Hand (52 Central St.) from March 3-16.

The community is invited to an opening reception to be held at the Gallery on March 5 from 2-4pm.
