Wellesley Citizen Police Academy being held this spring
The Wellesley Police Department is again hosting a Citizen Police Academy to give participants age 21-plus an opportunity to engage with local officers and gain insights into police operations. The program lasts for 9 weeks, each Wednesday from March 26-May 28 from 6:30-8:30pm at the police department (no class on April 23).
Participants will:
• learn about crime prevention and investigative techniques
• take part in interactive discussions surrounding the challenges that law enforcement faces today
• receive instruction and demonstrations from law enforcement professionals, covering topics such as motor vehicle law, interview and interrogation/witness identification, narcotics investigation, computer crimes, and defensive equipment and tactics.
To register and for more information, email Officer Mike Pino at mpino@wellesleyma.gov or call 781.235.1212 ext. 7312.
(One past grad shared his thoughts after going through the academy.)
