Wellesley residents can expect a dynamic stretch of weather as February transitions into March. A seasonable and breezy Friday will give way to a weak system bringing a mix of snow and rain Friday night into Saturday morning. Temperatures will briefly rise into the 50s on Saturday before a cold front moves through, ushering in a sharp temperature drop and another shot of winter air. Sunday and Monday will be noticeably colder, with highs struggling to reach 30°F and bitter nighttime lows. A gradual warming trend begins on Tuesday, with milder temperatures before a significant storm system brings widespread rain and gusty winds by midweek.

Friday, February 28:

A mix of sun and clouds throughout the day, with breezy conditions making it feel colder. Highs will reach around 42°F, but wind chills will be in the mid-30s due to west winds at 8 to 16 mph. Late in the evening, clouds will thicken as a weak system approaches. Snow may begin after 8 PM before transitioning to rain after 3 AM. Lows will drop to around 30°F with calm winds shifting southeast at 6 mph. Little to no snow accumulation is expected.

Saturday, March 1:

A damp start with a mix of rain and snow in the early morning, tapering to scattered rain showers as temperatures rise to a mild 52°F. Southwest winds at 8 to 10 mph will bring occasional gusts up to 22 mph. The warmest part of the day will be in the early afternoon before a cold front arrives. By the evening, rain showers will taper off, but a few lingering flurries or snow showers are possible between 10 PM and midnight. Skies remain mostly cloudy overnight as temperatures drop sharply to 21°F, with west winds at 8 to 10 mph.

Sunday, March 2:

A stark change in temperature arrives with a cold and sunny day. Highs will struggle to reach 30°F, and wind chills will be in the teens due to northwest winds at 11 mph, gusting up to 22 mph. The cold air deepens at night, with clear skies allowing temperatures to plummet to around 12°F. Northwest winds around 10 mph will keep wind chills near zero, making for a bitterly cold night.

Monday, March 3:

Despite ample sunshine, temperatures remain cold, with highs near 31°F. A northwest breeze at 8 to 10 mph will keep wind chills in the low 20s. The cold, dry air continues into the night, with mostly clear skies and lows around 19°F. Winds will ease slightly, shifting to the west at 6 mph.

Tuesday, March 4:

A gradual warming trend begins as high pressure moves offshore. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with milder temperatures reaching 45°F. A light southwest breeze at 5 to 9 mph will help make the day feel more comfortable. Clouds increase in the evening, leading to a mostly cloudy night with a low around 35°F. Southwest winds at 6 mph.

Wednesday, March 5:

A strong storm system will bring widespread rain and breezy conditions. Expect a cloudy day with occasional periods of rain, some of which could be moderate to heavy in the afternoon. Highs will climb to 53°F, with south winds at 7 to 11 mph, gusting up to 24 mph. Rain will continue into the evening, and overnight temperatures will hold around 38°F.

Thursday, March 6:

The system clears out, leaving behind partly sunny skies and cooler air. A few scattered afternoon showers are possible, but overall, it will be a drier day. Highs will be around 44°F with light west winds. As skies clear overnight, lows will drop sharply to 23°F, bringing another chilly night.

Friday, March 7:

A seasonable and quiet end to the week with mostly sunny skies. Highs will be near 39°F, with a light west breeze. Lows overnight will be around 24°F, making for a calm and cool evening.
