Dr. Stephen Goodwin has been named Interim Principal of Schofield Elementary School for the 2025-26 school year. This marks a return to Wellesley for Goodwin, who served as principal at Sprague Elementary School from 2011-2014.
Goodwin succeeds interim principal Elaine Harold, who stepped in when Jordan Hoffman resigned after 2.5 years as principal following a medical leave.
Goodwin has served as an elementary school principal in other communities, including Carlisle and Winchester.”
Wellesley Supt. Dr. David Lussier wrote in a memo: “I worked directly with Dr. Goodwin during his tenure as the principal of the Sprague Elementary School from 2010-2014 and saw firsthand the positive impact he had on the school and its students. He has also served in a number of positions related to special education…”
Lussier said the appointments “is falling outside of our original hiring plan, but I also believe it’s critical to finalize this appointment now so that we can plan for a successful transition…”
Goodwin will be available at Schofield this Wednesday, April 16, in the school library, for a meet and greet after school with staff at 3:15 p.m. and parents/caregivers at 4 p.m.
