No trout for you Wellesley, but just over the town line…

The state’s MassWildlife organization has been doing its spring trout stocking of ponds, lakes, rivers, and brooks, but unfortunately Wellesley isn’t on the list.

As we’ve been told in the past, trout are cold water fish and water bodies need to meet certain requirements for the fish to survive.  There are no suitable waters in Wellesley that meet the criteria.

However, MassWildlife does stock bodies of water nearby, including Lake Cochituate, the Charles River, and Dug Pond in Natick. We were on the scene Wednesday for the stocking of Dug Pond with 400 brown trout. Go get ’em.
