Charles River Regional Chamber hosts a tasteful evening at Spring Seasonings event
The crowd was hungry, and the Newton Marriott ballroom was full with 50 food and drink vendors ready to serve up sushi, pasta dishes, wine, cocktails, tiki masala, lamb meatball, ice cream, sirloin, sliders, and more. The sold-out Charles River Regional Chamber Spring Seasonings event corralled some of the best-loved establishments from four area towns. Wellesley’s Smith & Wollensky, Dryft, Alta Strada, Papa Razzi, Fiorellas, and Playa Bowls put in a strong showing. As did 45 other hot spots from Newton, Needham, and Watertown.
A portion of the event proceeds will benefit Three Squares New England, a nonprofit organization supporting hunger relief across Eastern Massachusetts.

Van Leeuwen ice cream opens in Linden Square
In a nice addition to Linden Square, Van Leeuwen ice cream opened in Linden Square, adjacent to the area’s popular Courtyard. On opening day, over 100 excited customers lined up for the chance to try out creative spring flavors like White Chocolate Raspberry Brownie; Mango Sticky Rice; Blue Jasmine Passion Fruit Swirl; Strawberry Sorbet; and more. There are vegan options, as well. Whichever way you go, expect super creamy deliciousness.
A small is $6.60; medium is $8.10; large is $9.60. Indoor seating for about 15. Concrete floors plus excited kids makes for a joyful noise.
