Wellesley’s Katz to lead Foundation to Combat Antisemitism
The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism announced that Wellesley’s Adam Katz has been named president of the organization founded in 2019 by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft to stand up to hate
Katz joins the Foundation after more than a decade in the business world, including as global head of physical stores for Wayfair. He’s also an investor and limited partner at Reinventure Capital, a fund focused on BIPOC and women founders. Katz has also worked with non-profits such as the Innocence Project in Philadelphia.
The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism recently released research results that show 45% of Americans remain unaware of antisemitism across the country even as it continues to grow.
In 2023, the Foundation launched its #StandUpToJewishHate, campaign which introduced the Blue Square as a symbol of unity and solidarity.
Student offering free executive functioning series
Teen Exec, led by Weston High School student Natalya Lucas, this summer is offering two free workshops focused on building executive functioning skills such as time management, organization, and goal-setting. The two sessions of the three-week workshop are designed for students ages 12 to 15 in Weston and neighboring towns, including Wellesley.
Lucas, who founded Teen Exec last year, piloted the program over the winter with 13 students. Hands-on challenges, peer collaboration, optional take-home work are featured. Students receive a certificate of completion.
Series 1: July 15-17, 7-8 p.m.
Series 2: July 22-24, 7-8 p.m.
The student-led workshops will be held at Weston Public Library, 87 School St., in Weston.
